In 1992, Toktabaeva Asel Kyrgyzbaevna entered the Chemistry Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 1996, Toktabaeva completed her bachelor's degree and in 1998, she earned her master's degree in Organic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Compounds from the Chemistry Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 1998-2000, she was a postgraduate student in the Department of Organic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Compounds, and in 2000-2001, she was a junior researcher at the Central Physical-Chemical and Chemical-Mathematical University of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2001-2003, she worked as a 1st category specialist in the Department of Organic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Compounds. In 2003-2007, she was a senior lecturer in the Chemistry Department of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. Since 2007, she has been working as an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances, Natural Compounds, and Polymers at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Asel Kyrgyzbaevna Toktabaeva is a specialist in the synthesis of stimulus-sensitive polymers, including polymers for biomedical applications. She has participated in research projects at the PFI MES RK: "Development and Organization of Pilot Production of Combined Solar Energy Utilization Systems Based on New Membrane Technologies" (2014-2016); "Development of Polymer Dosage Forms of Tamarix Plant Extract" (2015-2017); "Development of a technology for producing new vaginal dosage forms based on hydrophilic polymers" (2020-2022), "Development of new polymeric materials with antimicrobial properties for treating various surfaces" (2023-2025). Co-authored over 150 publications in specialized national and international journals (ES Energy & Environment, Journal of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences), and received 7 invention patents. Co-authored 12 study guides and 1 textbook.
